While there was some rearranging of positions in terms of positional ranking, there was no change in the top 10 players in the game. This is the second year in a row that Stephen Curry and LeBron James have finished at the top of the list, but they are now joined by Kevin Durant, who showed he was back to his old self last season after a lengthy absence due to injury. DeMar DeRozan, a former Spur, is currently ranked as the 36th best player in the world by Forbes magazine.
Earlier this month, the day that 2K MT had been waiting for finally arrived: the game was released. Because the ratings of both players and teams are constantly debated, it is inevitable that the hype will lead to controversy. There is no exception in this year's game, with some players, such as LeBron James, expressing their disapproval even before the ball is dropped.
If they want to play with their favorite team, it could be a difficult season for Spurs fans. A tier 3 team with the second-to-last average player rating in the league, San Antonio is ranked second only to the Oklahoma City Thunder in terms of overall standings. Among the Silver and Black's players, only Dejounte Murray (82 overall rating) and Keldon Johnson (an even 80) have ratings higher than 80. Murray is the team's best player, and Johnson is the team's second-best player. Young and McDermott have 79 and 76 ratings, respectively, which are excellent for newcomers. Similarly, rookie Josh Primo currently holds the 23rd best rating among rookies with a score of 71.
As for Spurs fans, the good news is that they will still have two classic teams to choose from if they want to dominate with the Silver and Black, as both the 2004/05 and 2013/14 squads will be available and will include the Big 3. Among those on the All-Time team are David Robinson and Sean Elliott, as well as James Silas and George Gervin, who are among the best players in the franchise's history. Similarly to Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan was named to the All-Decade team in 2000 and has a rating of 99, the same as the duo. If playing with the current team becomes too much of a challenge, there will be other options available.
Spur does not appear in the top 50, with Murray appearing at number 61, the lowest position in the rankings. Derrick White, on the other hand, lost an overall point, going from 79 to 78, which was a positive development for Dejounte (though not to his satisfaction). As the season progresses, it is hoped that not only White, but also the other San Antonio players will receive higher ratings, allowing the young players to demonstrate their abilities.
Also, it would be fantastic if three-year-old Drew Eubanks could be represented by a character model who even remotely resembled him. As for you, Spurs supporters, what are your thoughts? If so, is the young core's rating accurate, or should it be raised? Will you be purchasing NBA 2K22 MT and playing with the Spurs, or will you be switching to a team with a more stacked roster of players? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
